Photoinduced Electron Transfer (PET) Based Zn2+ Fluorescent Probe: Transformation of Turn-On Sensors into Ratiometric Ones with Dual Emission in Acetonitrile

P. Ashokkumar, V. T. Ramakrishnan, and P. Ramamurthy
Ratiometric sensors for the detection of metal ions have gained increasing attention due to its self-calibration tendency for the environmental effects. In this context, we have synthesized and characterized a dual emitting ratiometric Zn2+ probe (1) having acridinedione as a fluorophore and...

Highly selective, sensitive and quantitative detection of Hg2+ in aqueous medium under broad pH range

Ranganathan Koteeswari, Pichandi Ashokkumar, E. J. Padma Malar, Vayalakkavoor T. Ramakrishnan, Perumal Ramamurthy
Amidothiourea linked acridinedione derivatives selectively detect Hg2+ in unbuffered aqueous solution under broad pH range with both single- and two-photon excitation. The observed linear fluorescence intensity change allows the quantitative detection of Hg2+ in the concentration range of 22...

Solvent-Controlled Metal Ion Binding Selectivity and Anion Interaction of the Acridinedione-Based Heteroditopic Host

P. Ashokkumar, V. T. Ramakrishnan, P. Ramamurthy
Acridinedione-based heteroditopic hosts 1a-c, which contain a flexible oxyethylene moiety as a metal ion binding site and amino hydrogen as an anion receptor unit, were synthesized and characterized. Metal ion and anion binding studies were carried out in different solvents to understand the...

Design of NADH model based fluorescence chemosensors and investigation on their excited state behavior

Synthesis and photophysical characterization of acridinedione based fluorescence sensor molecules. Investigation of metal ion and anion sensing performance from optical and NMR spectral studies.

Organic-Inorganic hybrid materials based fluorescence sensor for anions

Development of novel organic-inorganic hybrid materials for the selective and sensitive detection of biologically important anions, in particular fluoride. Boron–dipyrromethene (BODIPY) will be used as a fluorophore; Lewis acidic cationic boranes and amidothioureas will be used as anion receptors. Further BODIPY derivatives will be anchored covalently to the inner walls of the hydrophobically...
